Over the past week approximately twenty customers were affected by a faulty repeater in Gawsworth. During this time, Internet connectivity has been unstable and was completely unusable for four days.
Having immediately replaced the equipment, the issues continued. We immediately consulted with the hardware manufacturer and learned of a manufacturing defect which was apparently affecting both the new and replacement repeaters.
As a result of the hardware defect, we also had difficulty obtaining replacements as all UK stocks were exhausted. Eventually, replacement units were shipped in from Europe and work was carried out as fast as possible to stabilise the service.
Our engineers have been monitoring the service throughout the day and we're pleased to say service appears to be back to normal. We will of course continue to keep a close eye on the network over the coming days.
